As part of Osinergmin's proposal to shift to “electric LPG,” in November 2021, we held a meeting with the managers of the Efficient Cooking Program of Ecuador (PEC) to learn more about the strategy for replacing LPG with electricity in the residential sector. Induction cooktops are 100% more efficient than stoves that use LPG. They reduce fire, explosion, and poisoning risks and contribute to the energy transition. Therefore, the benefits projected include social, economic, and environmental ones.

In February 2022, we participated in a meeting in Tumbes, Peru, to address the progress of the 500 kV Peru-Ecuador Interconnection, which is estimated to start operations in 2026 with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Likewise, in February 2022, we participated in several trilateral meetings between Peru, Ecuador and Colombia in the city of Quito, Ecuador, to agree on the pending regulatory issues of the draft regulations of the Decision 816 of the Andean Community (CAN), on the Regulatory Framework for the sub-regional interconnection of power systems and intra-community power exchange.
